Presentation at Torre

This morning, we finally got to present our marketing strategy for restaurant Torre. Tuulia and I showed up at Torre at nine o'clock and we soon got acquainted with the staff. I was expecting the presentation to last half an hour at the most, but after our presentation and having discussed the details with our client we had spent a whole hour there.

I got the impression that they really liked our presentation and our ideas. What struck me most was how unfamiliar they were with social media. They really still thought that it was for young people only. Luckily, we soon turned that opinion around and emphasized the fact that you need to be visible in social media. I really hope that they will take actions in this matter. At least they seemed excited! :)

Interesting

The CEO of Sveriges annonsörer, Anders Ericson, claims that social media is just a temporary trend that people soon will forget. He also states that if a firm have managed to create a strong brand for itself, it doesn't need to market itself in social media. A strong brand will eventually have ambassadors who take care of their marketing indirectly in social media.

This is quite a big matter that needs to be discussed. I don't agree with Ericson in this case. I don't think social media have even shown everything it can do yet.

Third and final day at Kunstenniemi

The extremely intense marketing camp is now over. A whole lot of innovators started packing and heading back to Turku at noon. There was still a final round of the team's presentations ahead of us at Hanken. After having been working with our project for about 16 hours yesterday, both Tuulia and I were quite exhausted. But that didn't matter at this point anymore. What was left was giving a presentation about our final conclusions concerning our project, i.e. coming up with a marketing plan for Torre using social media, and trying to give the audience the so called WOW!- effect.

Taking into consideration the fact that we had been working with our project only for about 24 hours (and the fact that there were only two of us left in our team!), we managed to produce a great final report. Apparently we even managed to impress our audience and give them the wow-effect, since we eventually were evaluated as one of the course's best innovators!

I just want to thank all the participants on this course. I don't think that we would have managed to be as creative if it weren't for you guys! We got some great tips from you how to use social media as a marketing strategy and I believe that even if it was our team that assembled the final presentation, you all deserve a big thank you.

Let's hope that there will be more of these kinds of courses in the future too. At least for me, this course has been one of the best courses in marketing so far.

Here is our final presentation on how to use social media as a marketing tool. Check it out!

Day 2 at Kunstenniemi

Hey! What's up everyone?

Team Kekkonen is for the moment doing a great job in my opinion. Probably thanks to our little exercise this morning. Our coaches gave us a task to go for a hike in the woods this morning and look for some inspiration in the nature. We picked up a pine cone and some weird plant. Although, some would say this exercise sounds like rubbish, it was actually a quite nice start for the day. Everyone was set up in a good mood and so on.

Right now, we are doing some finishing touches to our presentation we're about to give to our client, restaurant Torre, tomorrow. I, myself, am very happy with the results so far, and we gotten some very good advice from other course participants.

Hopefully, our client will be in touch with us later tonight to give us some directions in should we or should we not create a Facebook page for them. I must say, the communication between our client and ourselves hasn't been that good.

Regardless what directions we will get, I can say with some confidence that team Kekkonen will deliver tomorrow.

Sunny regards from Kunstenniemi,

Kunstenniemeen, Kunstenniemeen!

Hi!

We've finally made it to Kunstenniemi for our super intense marketing camp. It looks like our team hast lost quite a few of it's members (we're now down to two members of an original six members). But at least in my opinion, that doens't slow our working down. We have already started coming up with different ideas how to use social media as a marketing channel. Our client, restaurant Torre, is expecting us to create an awesome marketing strategy for the using social media. So far, we've noticed that the facebook page needs updating. In addition, you shouldn't just focus on facebook even though it is a great media. Social media as Twitter and Foursquare are as important as Facebook when it comes to marketing restaurants.

For the moment we are waiting for a reply from Torre. We still need some additional info on what kind of profile they want to create to their restaurant and what kind of customer base the prefer. Whilst waiting for a reply, I'm going to enjoy the lovely countryside here in Kunstenniemi, go to the sauna and hang out with the rest of the cours participants. Maybe we'll even come up with the most awesome idea ever later on!

Is leadership a state of mind?

Just had a cuise with ex- leaders of military and the police force.
Had a wonderful time. And tough we did speak formelly about leadership we did bypase it.
Wisdome of leadership does not come from book.

It comes from expeireince. That I can't deny. So we just have to take the change to experience it!

It might go wrong, and it might go right! We can't know the result from the beginning, but what we can do, is to change own ways of looking at things and of doing them.

So go on changing the world!!!                         It is what you make it!

So it really leadership really is a state of mind! At least I think so! :)
